Hey there—
I’m Ali, the founder of Dynamips, a platform that helps you learn and practice networking skills with emulators and educational resources. I want to tell you how Dynamips started and how we’re changing to match your needs and expectations.
I’ve always been passionate about networking since the Windows NT days. I loved exploring and experimenting with different network scenarios and technologies. But back then, there were no network simulators, so I had to buy and use real network devices. This was costly and limiting, and not everyone could afford it. I remember how hard I worked to master the DHCP service on Windows Server 2000, doing it 63 times until I got it right.
In 2021, I was teaching networking on Udemy and helping other network enthusiasts on Facebook groups. I noticed that many people had trouble with EVE-NG, a popular network emulator. I had a ready-made EVE-NG setup with various Cisco images, and I decided to share it with them. The response was amazing. That’s how the EVE-NG Full Pack was born — a tool that became very popular among professionals.
As Dynamips.store grew, I realized that we could do more than just offer downloads. I listened to your feedback and saw the opportunity to create a network emulator education platform. That’s why I decided to transform Dynamips into a place where you can learn, practice, and improve your networking skills.
The first step was to redesign our website and make it more user-friendly and informative. The second step was to change our domain name from .store to .io. Why .io? Because it stands for input/output, a core concept in computing and networking. It also reflects our vision and values as a tech-savvy and innovative platform. And it keeps our brand name intact.
At Dynamips, we want to make networking skills accessible and affordable for everyone. We’re inspired by Jeff Bezos’ idea of ‘Day One‘, which means always being ready to adapt and improve. We value your input and guidance as we move forward in this direction.

At some point during the past twenty years, software became impersonal. Software is ones and zeros, but that doesn’t mean it should be robotic. dynamips.io is for people and we want engineers to be treated as such, and to know that they’re buying from people, not a business.
